I have heard that Chtitrangada Singh(C) looks like Smita Patil(S) ...Somewhat not totally .
Common: I think its the dark ,smouldering and sensuos beauty .The eyes,lips ,smile and the garb in C's first movie (Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi) -the crisp cotton sarees, the loose chignon the no nonsense footwear ..if I stretch even the dilaogue delivery maybe..strong and confident .Its too early to say if C has her acting skills in common with S.
Different : S was more petite it seems .C looks much taller and leaner and the nose is different too.C's nose is straighter, sharper ..S's nose was sharp too but curved at the bottom.I think they might not look so similar in non traditional clothes
what do you think ?

I had observed and mentioned the same thing in my movie review. I think you have done a good job with the pictures and the up-close comparison

I simply adored her performance in HKA...she is superb..though i don't like samita patil that much..so for me no comparisons :)

thanks for the compliments and i do write wahts on my mind.this was jsut one of the days where I made an observation on somethign I saw ...
They may not look very similar in non-traditional clothes bcos there are almost photos of S in t-shirts and jeans say. I still think there are enough similarities to justify comparisons.

hmm they do not look the same Meenal.. :) Smita has an unusually earthy beauty which few can come close too.. maybe Nandita Das to some extent but not Chitrangada..

I think i was talking to a passing resemblance and when i made them look alike it was owing to the simialrity in ensemble and probably some mannerisms.......
Sorry I am a bit late to comment, but I feel smita is much more graceful! pallavi has said it right that today's Nandita is a bit closer to her than C.
